Juniors or seniors with a passion for poetry should look at one of Eastern Oregon University’s rarest opportunities, which is English 339, Northwest Poetry, as a weekend college for 2 credits. Northwest Poets’ Concord takes place May 4 – 6 at the Hallmark Inn in Newport and is essentially a chance for students to experience thirteen master class sessions from contemporary poets. EOU students who have attended in the past have found this a life-changing experience, and some continue to attend year after year. Student comments: “

  • “I believe that it was the best time I have had that had anything to do with earning college credit!”
  • “I was amazed at the passion, playfulness, vulnerability and rawness of the presenters.”
  • “The Northwest Poets’ Concord was definitely something I will be remembering for a long time to come.”
  • “Kudos to…all the poets for an event I will remember as a highlight of my EOU days.”
